Green Crescent Trust values not only to educate its orphan students but it also play an important role to fulfill the daily needs of these children. Under the Orphan Support Program, GCT arranges different activities and events for the orphan students occasionally.
“Eid Milan” for Orphan Students was arranged by Green Crescent Trust at PAF Museum on Sunday, 24th August 2014 where 155 orphan students took part in different activities. The honorable and respected Mr. Khaleeq-ur-Rehman, Mr. Shabbir Kassim and Mr. Shahid Hassan specially participated and encourage the students as well as teachers. Under “Orphan Support Program”, GCT is supporting 155 orphan students with the collaboration of ICNA Relief Canada and other donors from Pakistan.
Beside volunteers-teachers from GCT Schools, Muhammad Abbas Ahmed, Adeel Noman, Jamil Qassim, Salman Qassim, Faraz Hasan, Azam Hasan and Usama Rahman were also took active part and gave their services as volunteer. They belong to different fields and institutions.
Orphan students attended the Eid Milan Program which was held at Pakistan Air Force Museum. These students were come from Shafiq Colony, Rerhi Goth, Yousuf Goth, Wangi Goth, Ibrahim Khamiso Goth, Bhangoria Goth, M.A. Rind Goth, Sohrab Khan Goth, Safar Goth, Soomar Goth and Korangi, along with volunteer teachers.
The students were given refreshment as soon as they reached inside the premises. They were given a Bag of food items including chips, biscuits, juices and candies. Children enjoyed having refreshment and sharing their food with each other in exciting mood to visit the museum after having refreshment.
Before the commencement of Event activities, verses of the Holy Quran were recited by young orphan girl. After the recitation, the Schools Director of Green Crescent Trust, Mr. Asif Hussain Siddiqui delivered a welcome speech and gave instructions to students about their visit at the Museum.
Director Schools Mr. Asif Hussain Siddiqui and Program Director Mr. Muhammad Azeem Siddiqui were facilitating the guests and volunteers. The students were very excited and amused to visit the Museum and play different games. The students were divided into groups and each group was leaded by volunteer.
The volunteers and teachers entertained the students by involving them in different games. Children were seen in their playful mood in the garden of PAF Museum.
After refreshment, students visited the museum in groups along with their volunteers and teachers. They were amused to see the Quaid’s aircraft and different monuments in the SHOHADA galleries. They were excited to have pictures with the Quaid’s and Fatima Jinnah’s Statue.
After the visit of Museum, the students were gathered along with their volunteer and teachers to have the group photos for the event. The students were captured in groups according to the location of their schools.
The most amusing and exciting activity for all was the sports activity among students. The students were willing to take part in these activities actively. Their confidence level was at its peak and they were full of energy to participate in the race. There was blowing the balloon race, spoon race and running race in which students were very happy to take part.
The names of the students who won these race competitions were also noted down by the volunteers so that they can be given some reward.
To motivate the orphan students and to make the event more joyful, the elders also participated in the race. The students were very pleased to see them participating in racing activities.
Soon after having a great time being playful and having fun, the orphan students were gathered for the distribution of lunch boxes and Eidi by our respectable guests, volunteers and GCT officials. The students seemed delighted to see the caring behavior of their elders towards them. They seem to be very happy and motivated by the end of the day.
